World Health Day: Cultural Healing

Cultural healing reconnects people to the heritage, cosmology, vibrancy and strengths of their culture and in doing so, enhances health and wellness. Cultural practices and traditions help us make connections within ourselves, to feel a sense of belonging and to nourish a sense of identity and purpose. This seminar is held in celebration of the United Nations' World Health Day. Presenter: Dr. Nadia Thalji

Conventional medicine minimizes cultural formulations as legitimate partners. However, there are connections between cultural practices and modern medicine. Passionate and insightful, psychologist Fayth Parks reveals how common elements in healing traditions connect a person to positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Dr. Parks shares her personal journey and, from her research, an age-old blueprint for healing and recovery.
